Normally the water use efficiency of the washer depends on the number and the volume of fills throughout the cycle. The majority of the washers are factory set to have 5 fills – prewash, wash and 3 rinses though nowadays some people find this number of baths excessive. There is a number of ways how to tweak timer or program a computer to skip the prewash, change time of the wash or get rid of one of the rinses.

The secret of modern washers efficiency compared with old style timer controls is mainly standard factory set for 3-4 fills (prewash, wash and 1 or 2 rinses) plus ability of the modern computer controls to be programmed all the way to the extreme E-cycle where you keep only two fills (wash and rinse). 

The drawback of these changes and tweaks is that the customer of the laundromat sees them and unless you put a low price on the washer there is no way you can explain him good reasons why the machine skips segments (prewash or rinse) or the cycle time is shorter than usual.

After UCO upgrade on the contrary – people tend to love machines more than original factory set. The total cycle time stays the same, the washer doesn’t skip segments – it just goes throughout the cycle like it should and there is never shortage of water.
